Are we a “Cesspool of Reprobates” or the “Chosen one”?

Some musings on the Trump Harris debate, the Conservative View, and a rather shocking quote from the Donald himself. 9-11-24

Most anywhere you look today, Kamala Harris “won” the debate on September 10.  Donald Trump looked tired, beaten, was easily manipulated, and used worn out responses or crazy talk. (Have you seen your dog or cat today?)

Yet Mark Levin, the self-appointed protector and interpreter of the Constitution referred to “the media” as a “Cesspool of Reprobates” because of their nearly unanimous agreement that Kamala Harris was the clear winner of the debate.  He then denigrated Vice-president Harris in relationship to her debate preparation in that she was being trained, much like one would train a dog to make the debate a made for media show.  My recollection is that every presidential candidate (except for perhaps Trump) has taken time for debate preparation.

Even Fox News viewed Trump’s debate performance as lackluster and without a lot of substance.  One commentator observed that the Fox News Team looked like they were exiting a funeral when the cameras turned on them for commentary following the debate.  Of course, they, along with Trump began the blame game saying it was three against one because the moderators fact checked Trump in real time.  Trump even went so far as to suggest that Harris knew the questions in advance . . . of course without any proof.

So, the bottom line?  Kamala Harris won the debate.  Will it therefore make it inevitable that she wins?  No.  This is politics.  A lot can happen in nearly 60 days.

And now to the “Chosen one.”  I happened to catch Trump’s press conference following the appeal hearing on E Jean Carroll case.  Of course, he went through his usual “victimhood” soliloquy and how the case was “election interference” and even more.  I found it interesting that the facts of the case pretty much mirrored Trump’s Access Hollywood “hot mic” tape.  He was also found liable by a jury who he complained came from a biased non-Republican jury pool.  But what caught my attention were his comments about one of the witnesses and also accuser, Jessica Leeds.  After trying to say her claim was made up, he went on to say it could not have happened because she was not “the chosen one.”  Here’s the portion of the story and quote from CNN:

“Trump also took aim at two women who were witnesses in the trial — Jessica Leeds, who accused Trump of groping her on an airplane in the 1970s, and Natasha Stoynoff, who claimed she was physically attacked by Trump while on assignment for People Magazine at his Mar-a-Lago property in December 2005.

Trump said Leeds’ claim was a “totally made up story” and said she was a “big Clinton person.” As he disputed Leeds’ claim of sexual assault, he said she “would not have been the chosen one.””

Isn’t this an ADMISSION???  He is basically saying he has a type, he’s done it before, but Leeds was not “the chosen one.”  I am surprised we have not heard more about this statement . . . to me it is pretty shocking and revealing.

What about you?
