Is Trump OVER?

Is his presidency hanging by just a thread?

July 28, 2026

Well now, it’s been awhile.

It’s been over a year since my last post.  I’ve been trying to sort out thoughts about the Trump presidency.  There is a lot to sort.

It is a failed presidency, propped up only by the inexplicable support of the conservative Right, where Trump can do no wrong!  If Bill Clinton, Barak Obama or Joe Biden had only a tenth of the failures of this President, we would have not stopped hearing about it.  In fact, still, we hear the complaints about one thing or another about all three.

Yet, none of them had a multi-million dollar civil judgement against them for sexual assault. It has now been paid if you haven’t heard.

None of the last democrat presidents engaged in a multitude of vanity projects including tearing down the East Wing of the White House (The Peoples House), adding their name to a presidential monument like the Kennedy Center, engaging in no bid contracts to repair the reflecting pool (is that a Presidential duty???), entering into a war that was supposed to take two weeks five months ago, with repeated assurances that “peace” was just around the corner.  Trump and the reputation of the United States have been repeatedly humiliated on the world stage over this one.  No one can say with any certainty the impact on our own economy, much less the global economy.

Where is FEMA?  While alleged undocumented workers are rounded up and innocent people killed without consequence, major flooding and disasters are happening with no federal emergency response.  Every day we are seeing the impact of unprecedented storms and flooding throughout the central and eastern United States, with daily news updates about the destruction without a word about the FEMA response.  Billions have been appropriated for ICE enforcement actions, and billions more are being asked for defense supplemental bills . . . and not a word about any emergency response.

Trump appears to sleep through a multitude of meetings, engages in rambling, disjointed, non-sensical “speeches”, and continues to engage in overselling everything he does as the greatest, most wonderful, most successful thing anyone has ever seen.  Listen closely, he uses the same overstatements about everything from the East Wing, to the Iran war, to his new Air Force One.

Trump has failed.  I thought we could probably survive four more years.  Now I am not so sure.  How long will it take the United States to recover from all these domestic mistakes and mis-steps to say nothing about the insults against our allies and this feckless war?  When will we see the abject pathology in his inability to admit having lost the 2020 election and the tragic efforts of his acolytes to engage in word conniptions to support his pathology.  Senate hearing after senate hearing we hear word gymnastics from his nominees who can’t just say “Joe Biden won the 2020 election.”

The Trump presidency hangs by just a thread.  The end is in sight.  Is it members of the Republican party finally turning their back so they can perhaps salvage a part of the 2026 mid-terms?  Will it be one of the Conservative Talk Radio stars that finally sees the cost of their support of Trump will forever taint their brand and credibility?  Will it be the American people that finally see the true pathology of his actions and how those actions impact their daily lives and will impact the lives of their children and grandchildren?

I think we might just see something “give” before the November mid-terms.

Stay tuned.
